Too Tired Project, a 501c3 arts non-profit, seeks a Development Assistant/Intern to start within the next 4 weeks.
Location: Remote
Hours: Flexible, between 5-10 hours a week
Reports To: Executive Director
About TTP: The Too Tired Project is a non-profit arts organization leading a worldwide community of artists working together to de-stigmatize mental health issues by bringing them out in the open through photography. Based in Vermont, the Project offers a space for collective creative expression via exhibitions, panels, workshops, photo book publishing, and social engagement. The TTP team is made up entirely of unpaid volunteers who believe strongly in the mission.
Position Summary:
This is a six-month internship, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and organization needs.
Too Tired Project seeks to provide an educational, mentorship-based internship experience. As Development Assistant/Intern, you will gain experience in the operations of a small non-profit that is trying to grow the organization’s funding base and new knowledge of contemporary art and behind-the-scenes insight into the work of non-profit arts professionals who produce, plan, and present the exhibitions, publishing, and programs at TTP. You will have hands-on learning and experience in researching funding opportunities, grant writing and reporting, donor engagement strategies, photo book publishing, best practices/protocols in non-profit management, frontline fundraising, and administrative duties. You will also learn about the world of nonprofit arts management, will have the opportunity to gain experience in the process of a unique and diverse Board of Directors, and will have experience working with artists and philanthropy professionals. Intern will be require to sign an NDA as they will be working with extremely confidential information.
Intern will research and investigate new grant sources or innovative programs and present pertinent information to the Executive Director. They will also develop and draft internal and external documents and materials to build or retain relationships with donors, volunteers, community members, and other supporters of TTP.
While all positions at TTP are unpaid, we are happy to work directly with your college or university to offer this as a for-credit opportunity.
Job Duties:
Instagram management (scheduling of posts, responding to messages, increasing engagement, minor copywriting)
Database management/data entry
Prepare/attend monthly board meeting (virtual)
Admin projects as needed
Research (grants, donors, sponsors, etc)
Fundraising activities: coordination of existing fundraising efforts while exploring new approaches to generate support for TTP
Outreach: increase awareness of the TTP goals and mission to as wide of an audience as possible
RSVP management
Qualifications:
Must have computer, access to reliable high-speed internet, and be social media savvy
Squarespace experience
Instagram experience
Zoom experience
We seek a motivated and responsible college student or young professional who wants to experience a small arts non-profit. Prior experience is not required, but you must have a strong work ethic, great attention to detail, and an eagerness and ability to learn. You should be comfortable working independently, with a team, or with a supervisor. To succeed in this role, you must be fluent in Google Docs/Sheets and have a tact & talent for writing.
